With summer already knocking on the door its important that as parents we think ahead and are ready for the dreaded summer holidays and ensure we have enough stuff for our kids to be getting on with without taking the easy option and sticking on the play station or a dvd.

Our children need lots of exercise, fresh air and good imaginations in order to develop to their full potentials. With this in mind we need to ensure they participate in activities that incorporate these qualities. A lot of parents are opting for turning the back gardens into a play area as they don’t feel comfortable allowing their children to go to the park on their own anymore.

An extremely popular piece of equipment parents are rushing out to buy is a wooden play house. These are fantastic little areas where children can play and get exercise and fresh air in safety and without realising it. It allows then to develop their social skills by having friends round to play and by imagining their little play house is a secret cave, castle, den or dragons lair, the possibilities are endless.

Wooden play houses offer good value as they take very little looking after, usually just one coat of protector each year will all be all it takes to keep them in tip top condition all year round and they will last for a lifetime. They are easily put together and can be made to suite your needs such as size, shape, colour plus added extras such as sand pit, climbing frame or slides.

Wooden play houses can be put up almost anywhere and can often make a garden look more attractive and can be made the main focus point. They can be taken down easily if you move house yet whilst they are up they are very safe, sturdy and offer many years of fun and exercise for your children and maybe even their children.

There are many different types of wooden playhouses and a simple search on the internet can offer lots of different information and pictures of the best ones which you can browse through and decide on the best one for yours and your childs needs.
